Get to know "Duo Perfect" Sunscreen better

Indonesia is a country with a tropical climate where the temperature is high and there is a lot of rainfall. Prolonged exposure to sunlight throughout the day has two sides, namely benefits and impacts on the skin. Sunlight is beneficial for helping the body produce the vitamin D needed for the regeneration of new healthy skin cells, while intense sunlight exposure during the day can cause the skin to feel burnt, irritated, and increase the risk of skin cancer.

One way to counteract the negative effects of sunlight exposure is to use Sunscreen products regularly before activities both indoors and outdoors. There are many types of Sunscreen available on the market, differentiated by type, mechanism, and protection spectrum.

Sunscreen differentiated by type and mechanism is divided into 3, namely:

  1. Physical Sunscreen  This Sunscreen contains mainly Zinc Oxide and Titanium Oxide. Its mechanism works by reflecting UV rays back and scattering them before they penetrate the skin surface. For owners of sensitive or acne-prone skin, this Sunscreen is safe for daily use. This Sunscreen can work immediately after application without waiting for its contents to work. The drawback of Physical Sunscreen is its tendency to have a thick texture and leave a white cast.
  2. Chemical Sunscreen

This Sunscreen can be distinguished from Physical Sunscreen by its content which includes Avobenzone, Oxybenzone, Octocrylene, and others. Its mechanism works by first absorbing UV rays, then converting them into heat before releasing them from the skin. This Sunscreen feels lighter and easier to absorb with a more liquid texture. Not all owners of sensitive and acne-prone skin are suitable for this type of Sunscreen, so normal, combination, and oily skin will really like this type of Sunscreen. However, Chemical Sunscreen is safe to use under makeup and without leaving a white cast.

  1. Hybrid Sunscreen

This Sunscreen, a combination of Physical and Chemical Sunscreen, works by absorbing and reflecting UV rays that enter the skin. Its content is present in both Physical and Chemical Sunscreen types. Hybrid Sunscreen is a choice for all skin types that like a light and easily absorbable texture. The drawback is that owners of very sensitive skin need to pay attention to the contents of this Sunscreen.

Next, Sunscreen is differentiated by protection spectrum, namely:

  1. SPF (Sun Protection Factor) to measure how effectively Sunscreen protects the skin. The higher the SPF content in Sunscreen, the more effective the protection. For example, SPF 30 provides 97% protection from UVB.
  2. PA (Protection Grade of UVA) to measure the level of Sunscreen protection against UVA. PA is usually marked with (+), the more (+) in the Sunscreen content, the higher the Sunscreen protection. For example, PA++++

Implora offers 2 Sunscreen products that can be chosen according to skin needs and conditions, namely Perfect Shield Sunscreen SPF 40 PA++++ and Perfect Shield Gel Sunscreen SPF 30 PA+++. Both Sunscreens have their own contents and benefits as follows:

  •  Perfect Shield Sunscreen SPF 40 PA++++: A Hybrid Sunscreen with Almond Extract, Aloe Vera Extract, and Hyaluronic Acid that also helps maximize skin moisture. This Sunscreen contains SPF 40 with PA++++ which also provides maximum protection from sunlight exposure.
